Very well done and interesting DVD movie. A pleasure to watch. I would recommend this movie for all to see. No fast forwarding no falling asleep on this one. A++ DVD
better than i thought it would be as i didnt like the visual effects of "300". good story. enjoyed even tho we can't stand mickey rourke, thankfully is face was covered up most of the time. would recommend

I agree with Disconnect. The story is a little flat, but the directors work is worth watching. Maybe if this director and Frank Miller teamed up-they could have created this movie as 300's little offspring :) 4/5 Stars from me.
Anyone claiming that this wasn't reminiscent of "300" is either blind or in denial. Same gladiator theme, same gory swordfights in slo-mo with exploding body parts, even the CGI and the camera lenses gave the landscapes a similar golden texture. And unlike some other commenters, I preferred this over 300. It was a bit less of a 'pec' and 'ab'-fest, less barking in favor of some actual dialogue. I particularly enjoyed Mickey Rourke as the evil King Hyperion. The movie achieved what it set out to be, light on story, heavy on action.
I was very unhappy at how this movie truned out. I was hoping it was going to be as good or better then 300. Oh how very wrong was I? I was bored, and not very interseted in any of the characters, and the whole thing with the bow was just stupid. He only uses it twice and then keeps getting it taken away by bad guys. Isn't the bow the focus of the moive? I did like the action sceens but I thought they were too short and the best action shots was the battle with the Gods, they had way cooler weapons. All and all it was ok. A good time killer but nothing more. I will not be rushing out to buy it anytime soon. I hope his next movie is loads better!

Directed by Tarsem so of course this movie looks beautiful but beyond that, not a whole lot going for this film. Good visuals but the story falls flat.
Got to watch an action movie based on greek legend and given enough hollywood bend to satisfy the working class. The upper crust and wannabes will find something to pan but nothing to show. Back to the shadows for them.
